DCP

As it is obvious from previous posts, the writers involved in this 'crime d'ecriture' have read comics at one time or another, and it would be safe to label them "fanboys from hell in black t-shirts."

As technology advanced we discovered a new phenomenon: Comics could be digitalized, turn into images, archived and turned accessible to regular joes.

This movement aims to preserve every comic book ever published in a digital form. This champions of comicdom go to great lenghts to do their deed. They invest a small fortune every month buying pretty much every comic book that comes out, take a long time scanning them and fixing, retouching and making them look nifty, and finally they upload them so anyone can reach them.

All this without charging a penny. The sole purpose is the preservation of an artform of storytelling.

For the people on the know it is very exciting to be able to find issues that you could never see in the nerdy days of yore. Comics from European countries, editions from the 40's or 50's, alternative press releases and so on.

We at the sostén cannot but take off our hats (not that we wear them in public) to the people that go to all the trouble for the sake of culture -or a small fragment of it.

In a later post we can discuss the subtleties, whether it is stealing, immoral or it will destroy the industry behind it.
